Student E - book review

Review

The book is about a boy who has Asperger’s syndrome and his name is Christopher. Christopher is a very smart student who is much better in math and physics he also hates the colors brown and yellow. He has a specific way how to say what type of day it is for example when he sees three red cars after each other on his way to school it is a good day if he sees four red cars after each other it means it is a super good day and he he sees three yellow cars after each other it is a bad day and if he sees four yellow cars after each other is is a black day(very bad).

The book is mainly about how Christopher is trying to discover who killed his neighbors dog whose name is Wellington. It is a detective book and it has a very interesting sigh of view of the story some might find it boring or fun or more like a children’s book in my opinion I think that the book I very interesting because you see things from a different personal view (from somebody who has aspirer’s syndrome).

Characteristics of Christopher

Christopher did what he did for many reasons one reason is for example he ran away from his dad because he was scared that he might kill him because he killed the neighbor dog named a Wellington. But he also wanted to take a very hard test from math (by hard I mean it was a very high level) but he would be able to do it on an A grade because he was very smart when we are talking about math and physics. He also believed that his mother was dead until he was once looking for a book he wrote about what was happening and how he was investigating Wellingtons death and while he was looking for it he found letters that were addressed to him by his mother who he presumed was dead.So he once ran away from his father to his mothers place all the way till London a told his mother that his father said that she was dead so that he didn’t question that before but now he knew exactly why he said that (that she was dead) because she left him for somebody else which was a man who’s name was/is Mr. Shears.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time

Another month, another book.

Our 7th graders have a required book to read, including an hour of reading in closs. Simply put, Mondays are fun!

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a 2003 mystery novel by British writer Mark Haddon. Its title quotes the fictional detective Sherlock  Holmes in Arthur Connan Doyle's 1892 short story Silver Blaze. The novel is narrated in the first person perspective by Christopher John Francis Boone, a 15-year old bo who describes himslef as a mathematician with some behavioural difficulties living. Although Christopher's condition is not stated, the book's blurb refers to Asperger syndrome, high functioning autism or sevant syndrome.

In July 2009, Haddon wrote on his blog that "Curious Incident is not a book about Asperger's... if anything it's a novel about difference, abou t being an outsider, about seeing the world in a surprising and revealing way. The book is not specifically about any specific disorder," and that he, Haddon, is not an expert on autism spectrum disorder or Asperger syndrome.
