Liesel Meminger was a young German girl that lived with her foster parents. She had dark brown eyes which wasn’t very safe to have during that time. She also had quite short curly blonde hair. At the start of the book she was ten years old. She was without words and didn’t know how to read but luckily her foster dad taught her how to read later in the book. She also had a younger brother named Werner Meminger who sadly passed away at the beginning of the book. Liesel then started going to school and met a good partner in crime named Rudy Steiner. Rudy wanted Liesel to be more than just his friend so he raced Liesel for a kiss but both of them ended up losing. As a mentioned before Liesel didn’t know how to read which was a problem in school because other kids made fun of her for not knowing how to read and even bigger problem was when her class teacher asked her to write or read something.
